Designed for non-digital and digital operation. In digital operation, the smoke generator has to be connected to the decoder function output. Otherwise it will smoke too much (you'd need Seuthe #24 in that case).

In most cases, you will have to unscrew the locomotive body from its frame. Many Marklin steam locomotives have one philips screw that holds the body on to the frame. This screw is often centrally located on the bottom of the frame, or hidden inside a dome on top of the locomotive. Look for a cover on top of a dome that you can pry off with your fingernail.
