This decoder is for converting Märklin/Trix H0 locomotives with built-in high-efficiency motors or other DC motors. The märklin mLD Locomotive Decoder has a 21-pin connector and an accompanying connector circuit board for converting analog and digital locomotives. The Märklin mLD LocomotiveDecoder supports the digital formats MFX, Marklin Motorola 1, MM2, and DCC.

If you have an AC motor, it needs to be converted as well.

Charlie's Tip: Open your locomotive, and check the headlights on either end. In older locomotives, you may still see a screw-in light bulb, with the lampholder grounded to the locomotive frame. If that is the case, you may need new lampsockets, they will fit into your current screw in fittings. The item number is Marklin 276770. In that case, you will also need the 2-pin lightbulbs Marklin 610080.
